Terms & Conditions

The rules that apply when you search, book and review stays, services and experiences on Cribb. Please read them before you book.

1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Cribb — the website and the Cribb app — to search, book and review apartments, services and experiences in Nigeria. By creating an account, sending a booking request or completing a booking, you agree to them.

Cribb is a marketplace. Where a stay, service or experience is offered by an independent host, provider or operator, that person or business is the one delivering it. Cribb connects you with them, verifies them where stated, and is responsible for the parts of the experience it controls.

2. Accounts and verification

You must be at least 18 years old to hold a Cribb account, and you must give accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for anything done through your account.

Some features require identity verification. Where you submit an identity document or a selfie, it is used only to confirm that the account belongs to a real person and to reduce fraud, it is stored privately and is not shown to hosts, providers or other guests. You can ask us to delete your account and the verification material attached to it.

3. Listings, search and availability

Listings on Cribb come from two sources: properties prepared by the Cribb team and properties created by hosts. Availability, price, cleaning fee and house rules shown on a listing page are the host's or Cribb's statement of what is on offer at the time you look.

Details a host states about power, water, Wi-Fi and security are shown as stated by the host. Where Cribb has not itself tested a figure — for example a measured internet speed — it is labelled as stated, not verified.

A booking is not confirmed until the host or provider accepts it. Until then, nothing is reserved for you.

4. Prices, fees and taxes

Nightly rates, cleaning fees and optional extras are shown in Naira (₦). The price you see before you confirm is the price you are asked to pay.

Cribb adds a service fee of 12% of the nightly total. Value Added Tax of 5% is charged on that service fee only, not on the nightly rate, cleaning fee or extras. Optional extras you select — such as airport pickup, concierge or private chef dinners — are added at the prices shown at checkout.

Stays are paid in full at checkout through Paystack, in naira. Each stay includes a ₦50,000 refundable caution deposit, held by Cribb and returned after checkout unless damage is reported.

5. Cancellations and changes

Cancel at least 48 hours before check-in for a full refund, except the Cribb service fee and VAT. Within 48 hours of check-in, only the caution deposit is refunded.

If you need to change dates, message the host through Cribb. A change only takes effect once the host has accepted it and the calendar has been updated.

6. Host responsibilities and property acceptance criteria

Every property published on Cribb is checked against nine acceptance categories. A host confirms each one when creating a listing, and a listing cannot be published until all nine are completed. The details a host gives become part of what guests see.

Hosts must keep their calendar accurate, represent the property truthfully in photographs and description, and tell Cribb promptly if anything material changes — power, water, security, access or the condition of the property.

Property Acceptance Criteria

LegitimacyHost has documented authority to offer the property

WaterReliable supply and backup where applicable
InternetWorking Wi-Fi with stated service level
SecurityReasonable building/access/security controls

7. Guest conduct

Guests must respect the property, the building and the neighbours. House rules shown on the listing apply, including rules on guests, visitors, smoking, events and quiet hours.

Guests are responsible for damage they or their visitors cause beyond normal wear and tear, and for any charges a host is entitled to raise for breach of house rules.

Do not contact a host or provider outside Cribb to arrange a booking that avoids Cribb's fees. Repeated attempts may lead to an account being restricted.

8. Services and experiences

Services and experiences are booked directly with the provider or operator. Your booking request is sent to them, and they confirm or decline it. Once the provider accepts and sets the price, you pay through Paystack to confirm. Cribb holds the payment and releases it to the provider, less a 10% Cribb commission, after the service is provided.

Providers set their own prices, availability and operating terms. Availability a provider blocks in their calendar is applied to their service listings.

Applications to provide services on Cribb are reviewed by the Cribb team. An applicant is only listed, and only receives booking requests, once that review is approved.

9. Reviews and ratings

Reviews are written by guests who actually booked and used the stay, service or experience, and are published after the booking has taken place. Reviews cannot be bought, and Cribb does not write reviews for listings or providers.

Reviews must be honest and about the actual experience. Cribb may remove reviews that are abusive, defamatory, off-topic or clearly not from a genuine booking.

10. Connections and privacy

Cribb connections are made only by Cribb PIN. A connection can only be created by someone giving you their PIN; you cannot search for, list or add people. Never share your PIN with anyone you do not want to be able to connect with you.

Messages between guests and hosts, and between guests and providers, are private to the people in the conversation and are retained only as long as needed to operate the booking and resolve disputes.

11. Your safety and liability

Cribb verifies properties and checks host and provider details, but it cannot guarantee conditions on the ground, the conduct of third parties, or the availability of utilities during your stay. In an emergency, contact the relevant emergency service first, then tell Cribb.

To the extent the law allows, Cribb is not liable for losses arising from a host's, provider's or operator's acts or omissions, or from your failure to follow house rules or the terms of a booking. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights or liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Changes to these terms and contact

Cribb may update these terms as the marketplace develops. Where a change materially affects a booking you have already made, the terms in force when you booked continue to apply to that booking.

Questions about these terms, a booking, a review or your data can be raised with the Cribb team through the app or via the contact details shown on the Cribb website.
